Concrete conservation actions to reshape portions of Pantano Longarini carried out during summer 2021 start showing first results. In particular, creation of new niches to support an increase in Marbled duck population in the area has apparently received a direct appreciation from Marbled duck specimens released in the area in spring 2021. In fact, during specific census a few individuals of Marbled ducks have been recorded during the last months to often perch and rest on a few islets specifically shaped during summer 2021. Such an evidence seems to prepare the ground for a future use of the same niches during the upcoming breeding season.
